Giving Tuesday is focused on the act and spirit of giving back to children and families in need after we celebrate Thanksgiving. This year, we need your help.
Dear Friends of MEF:
This Giving Tuesday (December 3rd), we need to raise $12,500 to cover University scholarships for 5 promising indigenous leaders from Chiapas, Mexico in 2025.
We still have a funding gap that needs to be bridged in order to continue the full scope of work with our partners in Chiapas this year – this means we need your help to continue supporting our Tsotsil and Tseltal University students in 2025.
In Mexico, only 3% of the indigenous population access higher education.
Yet we know there are promising and talented Maya students like Maribel who will go on to do great things if they are supported to go further with their studies.
$100 covers a 1 month living allowance (for food, materials and transportation)
$650 pays for a semester of University Studies
$2500 covers the complete costs of a Chiapas University student in 2025
