Dear Friends: We hope this finds you in good health and perhaps even in vacation mode. Some quick notes for you from MEF:
► Our midyear letter went out in June and for those who do not receive it in the mail or have missed it on Facebook, you can read it here. We thank all of you who are deciding to send support to MEF at midyear point when donations are not usually plentiful.
Special thanks to the amazing individuals who donate in honor of Shelton Davis, to those who honor Robert Laughlin with their contribution, and to all donors who remember loved ones by making a charitable gift.
► We recently suffered the loss from COVID of our colleague Xhun Guzman in Nebaj, Guatemala. A creator and leader at Colegio Paxil, we always esteemed him highly and will miss him greatly.
His daughter, Ank’ach (Ana), will pick up tasks he was entrusted with. She will represent his spirit of preserving the Ixil culture and language and has worked at the school for several years already. Que en paz descanse.
► We would like to close with a time-sensitive appeal on behalf of the volunteer-led English Language Program (ELP):
We wish you a great summer!
With kind regards,
Elisabeth Nicholson
